CIS home » El Colegio History of the College. Founded in January 1971, for research into and promotion of the Spanish language, the Colegio Internacional de Salamanca is an non-denominational, private institution for higher education. It has its headquarters in the University Dormitories of the Carmelite Fathers, and classes are held in the classrooms of the Dominican University (the two form, in effect, a single campus). The CIS offers its students courses in Spanish as a foreign language, whether for beginners or for more advanced students at levels previously achieved. The college specializes in courses for younger, teenaged students, and we thus take care of all auxiliary services: organization of travel, meals, classes, cultural activities, and so on. The college assumes responsibility for the entire stay of the students, so as to handle discreetly and efficiently any difficulties that may arise for foreign students in Castille, especially those who are minors and still in their teens. This is a commitment which we can make as a result of our demonstrated experience and competence in this area, in which we have specialized for over 35 years. Although the student is far from family and familiar surroundings, the student knows that he or she can count on instant help, thanks to a dedicated service with deep roots in the city of Salamanca. The services of the CIS are available day and night, whatever the reasons or need on the part of the student. Whether the student is living with a family or in the dormitory, whether older or younger, she or he is continually under supervision. |
